"You wouldn't mind my... eyes?"
"Not if you don't mind me being a dentist."
"It's a deal!"
Happy holidays!
A while ago, as I was just getting into the holiday spirit, racking my brain for something original to create, I figured Derpy would get along quite well with another well-known misfit-type, Hermey the Elf from the 1964 Rankin/Bass
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Christmas special. I've especially always loved the song from the film, "We're a Couple of Misfits", and thought that would be a great spot to reference. If you think about it while listening to the song, Rudolph actually does sounds remarkably like Derpy... or maybe that's just me.
Anyways, yes, I'm posting this for the holiday season, albeit the day
after Christmas, for which I actually feel pretty bad about. I started this way back in mid-November and hoped to have it done by the major holidays, but it just never happened for whatever reason until just in the past few days. But yeah, hopefully it can still be appreciated somewhat!

Instead of vectoring Hermey in an MLP style, or combining that style and a puppet-esque thing as in the film
*shudders*, I decided to go with a simpler paper-cut-out-type design. Believe it or not, it was just as, if not more, time consuming than the traditional Pony style. It took a while to get the trees looking close enough to those in the scene from the film to be believable, but I think it worked out. Overall, it seems a little empty to me, but it's already late, so that's pretty much as good as it's going to get.

Hermey the Elf was created by Rankin/Bass Productions, and is now owned by DreamWorks Classics. >_>
Different from the rest
Who decides the test
Of what is really best?"
"...Hasbro does."
"Oh yeah... *sigh*"
