"I LOVE this 3-D!" Yesterday's episode was really great; there was a lot that could've been done wrong, but they pulled through once again and brought something both original and entertaining. But I guess that's only to be expected from the show now.
Anyways, it seems that I'm being compelled to vector something after each new episode airs this season, and this time I felt like doing that one shot with Babs emerging from the cinema screen (What!? Movie theaters in Equestria...?) with some familiar-looking concessions in tow.
In the episode, the animators gave Babs a sort of washed-out color scheme for this shot, to make it seem more like she's part of the projection, so I took that and exaggerated it a bit to make it more convincing. Also, the little color-changes along the screen-barrier-line-thing were interesting to do. ... I had to sort of reinvent the wheel there, but I made it work.
This is the first vector I've done with a full shot nearly entirely traced from the show. It took significantly longer than most of the other stuff I do, and a whole bunch of exporting errors courtesy of Inkscape kept this delayed overnight. Still not as tough as entirely creating a scene from scratch, though. I'll get back to original stuff, I promise![Insert Roger Rabbit plz icon here]
I just realised: the little lobby fellas have hands! Is Lyra an animator on the side?
Also, I suspect that one of Babs's parents is a Pie, or connected to Pinkie's bloodline, what with breaking the fourth wall to frightening effect here...!
Seriously, all I could think off when seeing this.
How in the heck did I find this by looking up "New Line Cinema"?

"Let's all go to the lobby!"
"Let's all go to the lobby!"
"AND RUN FOR OUR DEAR LIVES!!!"
Let's all go to the lobby and get ourselves a drink."
